Intro to SSO Dressage
This Intro to SSO Dressage is one of the segments in my Dressage Mastery Series.
If you're a beginner just starting out with Star Stable Dressage, this tutorial will help you to learn and master the moves that most Dressage clubs use in SSO!
If you've been around awhile, you'll know most of these basic Dressage moves, and this tutorial will be a good refresher for you!
Intro to SSO Dressage will teach you some of the basic SSO Dressage Fundamentals.
In this tutorial we'll focus on your gaps, timing, and alignment.
CA: Comb Alignment
Match your horse's tail bow with the lead horse's nose beside you for "comb alignment".
Always walk on "pre" to avoid crashing.
HI: Halfway Inside
Use "halfway inside" for cantering. You want your rider to be halfway inside the horse in front of you.
Use "nose-to-tail" for halting, lining up, & walking. Your horse's nose should be hovering over the horse's tail in front of you.
OT: Overlap Tail
Use "overlap tail" for trotting and circles. You want your horse's head touching the rider in front of you.
That wraps up my Intro to SSO Dressage tutorial!
Be sure to watch the video tutorial below so you can see how to do each move properly.
And, so you don't forget what you saw, I've made you a quick print out that you can download and keep in your SSD binder for easy reference!
